Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) is an iconic historical monument and one of the most significant landmarks in the Czech Republic.Located on a hill overlooking the beautiful city of Prague, it is not only a castle but also a complex of palaces, churches, gardens, and courtyards, making it one of the largest castles in the world.

With a history spanning over a thousand years, Prague Castle holds immense cultural and political importance. It was originally founded in the 9th century and has since served as the seat of Bohemian kings, Holy Roman Emperors, and later Czechoslovakian presidents.

Today, it remains the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle's architecture is a fascinating blend of various styles, reflecting the different periods of its construction and renovation. The dominant feature is the stunning Gothic-style St. Vitus Cathedral, an awe-inspiring masterpiece with soaring spires and intricate stained glass windows.

The Old Royal Palace showcases Romanesque and Gothic elements, while the Vladislav Hall, part of the palace complex, is an impressive space used for state ceremonies and events. Visitors to Prague Castle can also explore the charming Golden Lane, a narrow street lined with colorful houses, once home to castle craftsmen and goldsmiths. The castle's vast courtyards, such as the First and Second Courtyards, provide stunning panoramic views of Prague and are perfect for leisurely strolls and photo opportunities.

The castle grounds are also adorned with lush gardens, including the Royal Garden and the picturesque South Gardens, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city below.
